British Council – Rainbow Audio Workbook with the Department of Education

The British Council appointed EISH to produce an audio programme to support the Department of Basic Education’s Foundation Phase and Intermediate Phase English First Additional Language Rainbow Workbooks. The audio content is packaged on SD cards and used on the British Council’s LifePlayer, a unique solar-powered device that makes audio content available to teachers and learners in the most remote areas of South Africa.

The audio programme consists of weekly lessons that match the Rainbow Workbook Series learning programme. Each weekly audio lesson consists of a theme-related song or story, a vocabulary lesson, a phonics lesson, a sentence-structure lesson and a game. The audio content is designed to ‘model’ correct pronunciation, phonemes, sentence-structure/patterns and vocabulary usage.
